Literature Text

I have no sides; only edges
My planes are vast; too large to measure
A shade of grey from white to black
Continuous with color's lack
Runs head to toe and back again
Along my curved and spinal bend.
The gradient runs fast and smooth
Like blue to red post-afternoon
As dusk comes in and takes the place
Of daylight gone to rest in peace.
I'm taking a poetry class this semester and this is the first poem I've written for it. The assignment was iambic pentameter, but I focused too much on the iambic and forgot all about the pentameter. Oh well, there's always next time.
